Bob Goehring passed away on Saturday Evening, January 19th 2019
Bob will be remembered as a long-time member of the Mission & District Rod & Gun Club. Joining in 2000, and working behind the scenes Bob’s contributions have helped to build the club throughout the past 19 years.
With the Pacific Shooter’s Association range closure, Bob was instrumental in acquiring sixteen steel and concrete benches for the MDRGC. Based on Bob’s record of meritorious service and significant contributions to MDRGC, a Life Membership was confirmed and awarded in 2010.
Many will remember Bob for participating in BR 50 for which he was the chair. Bob introduced the BR50 rifle discipline (.22 Bench Rest) to the Club and as the BR50 Chair, Bob was instrumental in completing the first .22 Bench Rest season in 2009 as an active participant, registrar, shooter and score keeper. Bob actively participated in BR50 through 2018, winning the “Provincial Championship” on July 28th, and attaining the highest score on all four targets for an average of 2375/2500.
Bob will also be remembered at the club for participating in Center Fire Bench Rest, Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays at the club and he was a hunter and a competitive shooter having competed throughout North America.
Bob GOEHRING “Left the Range” at 79 years of age on January 19th, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 25th at St. Anthony’s Church, 2347 Inglewood Avenue, West Vancouver, BC.
The Mission Club has lost a great member.
